Twenty five 100% on expert mode on Guitar Hero and Rock Band. Eleven years of life with a couple of noisy golden retrievers. Three very trustworthy friends. Nearly 10 years of life with the worlds craziest sister. All my life with a very strong water polo player and brother. My life so far at age 15 might be considered awesome and extreme at the same time.
Hi, my name is Kevin F and I am in the ninth grade in high school. Some of my goals as a freshman include the common goals such as getting good grades and making new friends. But others like being a top student are also on my mind. To be a top student I have to do my best to get A’s on tests. In order to get those A’s, I am going to have to study especially hard. Right now, this is my main academic goal at school.
I have goals for getting along with my family better. I would like to get along better with my sister, Julia. She likes to sing High School Musical songs that get very irritating, but I would like to learn to resist the temptation to throw her iPod out the window and dispose of that music forever. I would also like to spend more time with my family. Right now school and Marching Band are keeping me from doing that. I would just love to have a day where we could go on vacation, or even just spend an evening without having to do something for school: like homework or an event with marching band.
My three best friends are attending high school with me, Aysen, Norint, and Ami, but I want to make more friends and keep in touch with friends at other schools. I would especially like to stay in touch with my friends at another school like Dylan, Luke, and Nathaniel. I know to make more friends here in high school I need to be more optimistic and outgoing. Making friends is not the easiest thing for me to do because I tend to be a very shy, quiet person. Being in high school is a new opportunity to make new friends and I hope I take advantage of this new beginning.
I also have many goals outside of school. I would like to become an even better guitar player by the end of the year. I have been told I have a gift for music and the electric guitar is my favorite instrument to play. Since I also like to play the drums as well, I am striving to make the drum line in the Marching Band. Since I have never had drum lessons, I will have to focus on learning the drumming techniques from my friends currently in the drum line.
My main goal outside of school is to not have to do homework during trips or fun activities. I had to do some of my summer reading over the course of our summer vacation. Trust me, it is not fun! All it does is ruin the fun you should be having during the trip. So finish your homework as soon as possible and do procrastinate! I learned this the hard way!
Overall, I hope to achieve my goals as the year progresses and work becomes harder. By being a top student, learning how to become a good drummer and guitar player, and by learning not to procrastinate, I can reach the level to achieve my goals. Meeting my goals will help me feel accomplished during my freshman year and help to make my transition to high school successful.
